Louth Craftmark was set up in 2000 to represent the local craft makers in Louth, in a co-ordinated and concerted effort to stimulate the development of the craft sector. Louth is recognised as an area of emerging strength in terms of arts, culture and crafts activities. Louth Craftmark has a strategic focus to tackle economic hardship, entrepreneurship skills deficits and social barriers faced by craftspeople living and working in Co. Louth.

The Crafts Council of Ireland (CCoI) is the national design and economic development organisation for the craft industry in Ireland. Its activities are funded by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment via Enterprise Ireland.

The Craft Potters Society of Ireland (CPSI) was founded in 1977 by a small group of enthusiasts who felt that it was time for Irish potters to get talking with a view to seeing how they could support each other in what is often a very lonely job. In 2006 the Society changed it’s name to Ceramics Ireland which is the name of its journal.

Visual Artists Ireland is an all Ireland body for professional visual artists. It provides services, facilities and resources for artists, initiates artistic projects and publications and acts as an advocate on behalf of individual artists. The organisation was established in 1980 and has a current membership of over 1,400 artists.
